Motu Tony Editorial Shoot

Back

Busy schedule today shooting for new business mag Future Focus.

First stop ex pro rugby player, now Hull FC manager Motu Tony who’s embarked on a new challenge.

Met up with him at Huddersfield YMCA RUFC and did a quick reccy for the right location, didn’t want to shoot anything obvious on the pitch. The client also wanted something that was quite gritty and moody to show another side of Motu and his new role. We then found the changing rooms which looked old school – perfect. Grabbed a few props then went to switch off the lights so we could shoot in low light but everything was on a sensor – plan b.. decided to heavily underexpose everything and fire a quick burst of flash to create some shadows and bit of drama. Really pleased with the location and lighting and it was a tight schedule, done. The hardest part was persuading Motu to look straight at camera and give me his mean face without laughing.

It was then a matter of toning in post-production to get the final look we wanted.

Next stop Leeds City Centre to meet up with Property Specialist at Pinsent Masons for a relaxed natural light corporate portrait, before travelling over to Clipper Logistics to cover a story on the partnership with the Novus Trust.
