Covered The Party at the End of the World for the National Trust, part of Nostell Priory’s Red Poppies, White Butterflies Project. Hundreds of people enjoyed the centenary of the house party, the last golden moment before Britain was plunged into World War One. Shot a great performance by Yew Tree Youth Theatre before we relived the speeches complete with laughter and applause boards, nice touch. The sun kept shining as I dashed between the Edwardian games on the lawn, the brass band and the Vintage 78 DJ’s. Caught up with the women at war, nurses busy bandaging. Next stop the Picture House to view moving pictures, courtesy of the Yorkshire Film Archive before witnessing the Photo Parlour in action for costumed portraits. Great day on location and an insight into a changing world – didn’t get time for a vintage beer though!
